U9’s County Cup & GRFU Fair Play Award 2016/17

U9’s County Cup & GRFU Fair Play Award 2016/17

Not only did the U9’s have a fantastic day, with two very close losses and two wins.
Their defensive and attack play was amazing, giving the other teams a run for their money.

Not only did we have a great day we also won the 2016-17 Fair Play Award.
With this award I had to choose a family from the group to win a Family pass to either a Bristol or Gloucester game.

The chosen family was – Matthew, Cameron, Louise, Sam and Lee Janes.

Twickenham for TEWKESBURY U11s

Twickenham for TEWKESBURY U11s

Tewkesbury Tigers are on their way to Twickenham, TEWKESBURY U11s were involved in the Land Rover cup at Dean close yesterday and after a very exciting day they will be representing Tewkesbury rugby club at Twickenham where they will be playing on the hallow turf I believe at half time during the premiership Rugby final in May. I managed to speak the their very proud coach Terry Peirce this morning who was still feeling the worst for ware after celebrating well into the night said he was extremely proud of all his team and was looking forward to his trip to Twickers.
I believe this will be the first time a team representing Tewkesbury RFC will have played a match at Twickenham.
WELL DONE TERRY AND HIS TEAM

Matson 20-45 Tewkesbury
Tewkesbury on a very wet cold morning travelled to Matson for there final group 2 county cup match . We win this and we’re in the top 4 group . Matson as expected had some massive lads which put our lads in the pack under pressure. But we held strong on our ball and didn’t give away the ball , Matson did the same easily winning there ball . The difference was Tewkesbury’s backs and the pressure in defence . Second half saw Tewkesbury’s pack starting to get on top as Matson’s forwards tied . Great game great team effort great result .
All players where outstanding , Henry had the best game I’ve seen him play up to yet the other backs Alex, Charlie, Ben, Peachy, Miles and Jack were also brilliant with as always a master class performance from Brendan at full back with Ellis having a great game at scrum half and Sam leading the forwards who themselves worked their socks off to win the ball for the backs .

Trie scorers :- Alex 3, Charlie 2, Miles 1, Ben 2, Brendan 1
