Season 2020/2021

Tewkesbury RFC is a members club for the use of its members, but we always welcome new members and guests.

As a club, we actively encourage everyone who uses the club’s facilities to become a member, which helps support the Club. As an amateur based club, our purpose is to provide facilities for men, women, and children of all ages to play rugby – but we also aspire to develop and grow our membership and our facilities.

Being a member at Tewkesbury RFC gives you an opportunity to not only support your local rugby club but to contribute to its future, whilst at the same time benefiting from being part of a club that not only has a long history, but one that has a strong community and team spirit and a common goal to ensure the club has a great future whether you are a player, coach, volunteer or spectator.

By choosing to become a senior player or Patron of the club you will receive one vote at our Annual General Meeting – your voice can help shape the future of the club.  Social and junior memberships are not able to vote.

5 November 2020 Parliament yesterday voted in favour of the Government’s national lockdown proposals aimed at curbing the increase in Covid-19 cases in England, which take effect from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December. In addition, the Government has announced the cessation of all community team sports during this period, which applies to Age Grade and Adult rugby activities below Championship and Premier 15s. This means that all our activities have stopped.
With effect from 5 November 2020, we return to Stage A on the Return to Community Rugby Roadmap. This means that no competitive or formal rugby activities can be undertaken until at least Wednesday 2 December.
The RFU will now review what the implications of this national lockdown plan mean for clubhouses, schools, colleges, universities, etc., and will provide more detailed information in the Covid-19 Community Game Update.
We recognize that this is hugely disappointing for everyone, but as soon as we are able to recommence our activities in a safe way you can be assured play and our clubhouse will open.
Lastly, we would like to thank all our members, coaches, players, parents and those of you who support the club. Please keep safe and we will see you very soon we hope!
Clubhouse Our clubhouse is also now closed until further notice. However, our car park will continue to host the Mobile Testing Unit during the week. Please contact the government website if you need to book a test as Tewkesbury RFC cannot assist you in this process.
