Womens's Rugby

.

Our Women’s team is part of the vibrant community that is Tewkesbury RFC.  Since its conception in 1994 the women’s team has gone from strength to strength and now has a great squad of over 20 players of varying abilities from complete newbies to the game all the way through to season players.

Our main aim is to get fitter but our ethos is to make sure we have fun both on and off the pitch.  It is also the perfect pipeline to bring our Girls 13, 15 and 18 teams into the women’s game with many of our younger girls showing huge promise already, playing at County level.

The current Covid-19 situation means that we are not playing full-contact rugby, but we are still training every week.  If you would like to have a go at a new and more physical sport, get fit and enjoy playing a disciplined, intelligent sport with a very sociable team then join us for one of our Wednesday training evenings from 7.00pm – 9.00pm meet our team coaches and players and find out more about the beautiful game!

The RFU announced on Friday 6 March their return to rugby roadmap, which has been developed alongside the government's roadmap. From Monday 29th March our men, women, juniors and walking rugby will resume training to Stage D1 on the roadmap and will follow the different stages providing RFU and government guidelines allow us to do so. To view training times please see our training schedule on our home page.
Our clubhouse remains closed until such time as the Government confirm that hospitality may open. In addition work is being undertaken to relocate our cellar which has suffered damage from flooding, which may delay opening. We recognize that this is hugely disappointing for everyone, but as soon as we are have more information we will share with our members.
