The Under 9’s played against a touring team today from Newcastle (Staffs). They travelled down on Saturday and spent the day as guests at Kingsholm and watched the Gloucester V Leeds match (19-0). Before spending the evening with us socialising at the club.
The first match was a friendly mixed game of U10’s and U9’s – Newcastle gave us a taste of things to come 🙁
The second game was a straight U9’s competition – Tewkesbury 0 Newcastle 5
Both teams showed lots of skill and determination in different areas of the game. Newcastle showed great vision, looking for space and exploiting it, coupled with some great passing at speed which proved to much for Tewkesbury. Despite a huge amount of effort put in by the Tigers wining the ball in the rucks and mauls.
