Tewkesbury 2nd team played a bulky Berry Hill Team in the first merit table game between the sides, and an early penalty through winger Jack Lampitt eased the nerves, with hard running from Berry Hill the Tewkesbury defensive line held firm and kept the visitors at bay. Tewkesbury’s back line soon started to create gaps in the Berry Hill Defence with Winger Will Hartland scoring a hat trick in only his second game for the second team.
Centres Dave Taylor and Chris Dean scored one apiece with scrum Half Chris Hughes crossing after good support play , The only forward to score was prop Rob Byrne after the pack had work hard all afternoon to secure good possession, Berry Hill hit back with a late converted try to add to their earlier penalty.
